My experience of learning with ILSPA has been nothing but positive. The course material is detailed, interesting and well laid out. The instructions are clear and informative. Whenever I have needed further guidance, I have always received a quick, helpful and polite response. I have enjoyed my time learning with ILSPA and think that they provide an excellent course.

The syllabus was diverse and very well detailed, any examples given were easy to comprehend once I'd learnt the material and really helped me get in to the mindset of becoming a Legal Secretary. I have thoroughly enjoyed the Legal Secretaries Diploma course and feel that it will help me in my current role as a Legal Administrator. The course benefits any administrator or secretary who works within a law firm, or for those wishing to get into law, and gives a far greater understanding of the Law.

The tour of the Royal Courts of Justice and 'The Temple' by Amanda Hamilton was very enjoyable and being able to sit in a hearing made my day.

A lovely institution that gave me a really warm welcome and introduction to Law

A fantastic course to have completed. I thoroughly enjoyed attending the classes. The tutor was brilliant and made learning about the Law really interesting. The classes were well structured and easy to follow which complemented completing the coursework portfolio from home. The Institute has been invaluable in providing sound advice with the course instructions whenever I struggled. They helped me jazz up my CV making it look more professional and have made me feel more confident in applying for Legal Secretary employment. A lovely institution that gave me a really warm welcome and introduction to Law. I recommend that future students attend the Royal Courts of Justice Tour as this really inspired and convinced me that it is a career choice to be satisfied with. I can't thank the team enough for their support in my studies. 

I started at a Family Law firm three months ago

The course has been brilliant. I started at a Family Law firm three months ago and was totally confused by all the forms and terminology but doing this course has helped me understand it all a lot more.

I found the layout of the course very welcoming

The course was very enjoyable. Having no previous experience in law, I found the layout of the course very welcoming and the content easy to understand, as it was explained in a clear way. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone thinking of becoming Legal Secretary or PA.

This course gave me the strength to reconsider a career in the legal industry

I moved to the UK three years ago for family reasons and I had to give up my legal career back in Italy. I am very happy as this course gave me the strength to reconsider a career in the legal industry which I thought it was impossible to pursue here. I really enjoyed the course as it allowed me to get a first general idea of the English Legal System and how it works. Also I really appreciated the fact that students are tested not only on a theoretical level but also through practical assessments. You can get a first glimpse of what to expect once you are out there working for a law firm. I particularly enjoyed the Royal Courts of Justice Tour run by Amanda. It was a great experience and I highly recommend it. Thank you so much!

This course allowed for a deeper understanding into the legal profession for both Secretaries and Lawyers. I thoroughly enjoyed learning and being taught by Seamus. 

Every effort is made to help ensure that you will be in the best position to pass the course

This is a very informative, comprehensive course that teaches you step-by-step with all the different aspects of each assignment. While it has taken me time to get back into the habit of studying alongside working full-time and other life commitments, I have particularly enjoyed doing Civil Litigation and Wills, Probate and Administration. 

It was helpful to have an example sheet

I found some of the units were very interesting but some were more complicated, required more attention and concentration. I have been in touch with my tutor once, she was very quick in responding back and provided relevant information. I think overall the communication is very good and clear. It was helpful to have an example sheet. Explanation of the practice assessments were very clear. I have definitely gained a better understanding of different areas.  

The help I received when needed was prompt

It has been brilliant. The way the writer/s wrote was very relatable and very clearly explained. I enjoyed the entire learning experience and thank you so much for this brilliant comprehensive learning. Despite doing it online, the help I received when needed was prompt. Seamus was an excellent and very knowledgeable tutor

I really enjoyed the course and feel that I have learnt a lot. Seamus was an excellent and very knowledgeable tutor, who recognised and adapted the speed of the course to our needs. An additional advantage for me was the fact that the classes took place in the evening, which allowed me to continue working without disruptions. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who would like to start in the legal profession. 

I feel comfortable that I can now use this in practice

This course has taught me a lot and given me a very good introduction to law. The subjects go into depth but not too much that it becomes tedious. I feel comfortable that I can now use this in practice. My assessor, Maria, was very helpful and responded very quickly to queries that I had regarding coursework. I would recommend this course to anyone wanting to take up a career as a Legal Secretary or as a starter for further legal qualifications. A very pleasant learning experience. 

It will be interesting to state that a decision to take this course assisted in securing my present job

It has been a worthwhile journey. The courses are quite interesting as they take one through the rudiments of how Law Firms function. The ILSPA Team were helpful with useful and promt feedback. It was also interesting to discover that there is a Professional Body that identifies the importance of having Legal Secretaries and PAs in the legal field as this position is seldom recognised for the role it plays in Law Firms especially in Nigeria. It will be interesting to state that a decision to take this course assisted in securing my present job.

It was really exciting to learn the difference between Roman law and common law

It was a great experience. I am coming from a legal background in Italy, so it was really exciting to learn the difference between Roman law and common law. Thank you. 

The course made me more engaged with my work

I work as a Legal PA for an in-house Legal Team and the course was very well laid out and the material well-written in an engaging style. The course made me more engaged with my work and allowed me to understand my team better and improve my prioritising skills as I now understand the law behind certain matters.

The course was very helpful in providing a general understanding of many areas of law. It also gave a clearer insight into what it might be like to be a Legal Secretary and the various people that you would be working with on a daily basis. There was plenty of variety with the tasks to be completed and with the scenarios provided for the assessments. The long-distance option makes it flexible and easy to work around other commitments

Enjoyed the course. The long-distance option makes it flexible and easy to work around other commitments, which for someone like me who is opting for a career change it is perfect. Very well put together and all of the information is easy to access and follow. I am looking forward to my journey towards now securing employment in the legal field. 

I was offered the position!

I enrolled just over a year ago with ILSPA after deciding to pursue a career and study for my legal secretary diploma. I completed my course in June with a 94% pass. I just wanted to send an update on my current situation and say thank you, as without this course I would not be where I am a year later. The skills I gained from the course gave me the confidence to apply for Legal Secretary roles in London. I was pleased to find that using the advice given, I was offered a few interviews with various Law Firms. While some interviews were unsuccessful, after a few months of job hunting, I came across a Junior Legal Support role with Clifford Chance. I applied, and after 2 interviews, including a testing stage, I was offered the position! I have been working at Clifford Chance since November, and I am so pleased that I made the choice one year ago to study with your organisation. It is one of the best decisions I made for my career.
