Legal Secretaries Diploma course content

ILSPA's Legal Secretaries Diploma course is equivalent to a Level 3 qualification. You will learn about the day-to-day tasks of a Legal Secretary, legal terminology, various areas of law, the legal profession and how the court system operates. Through the practical units of the course, you will also acquire legal document production skills, learn how to complete legal forms and advance your ability to type professional correspondence.

  • Unit 2:  Law of Contract & Law of Tort
  • Unit 3:  Civil Litigation Practice
  • Unit 4:  Land Law & Conveyancing Practice
  • Unit 5:  Wills, Probate & Administration Practice

  • Tour of the Royal Courts of Justice (optional)

Study Method Options

Distance Learning - Online

ILSPA's Legal Secretaries Diploma course can be studied online via distance learning. Once enrolled, you will be able to access the course material, achievement tests, practical assessments and Student resources through our website. ILSPA's course is complete in itself, and you do not need to purchase any textbooks. 

There are no examinations for the Legal Secretaries Diploma course. You are assessed through online achievement tests and practical assessments. Full instructions and examples are provided in the course material to enable you to complete the coursework. 

You can start at any time of year and have the flexibility of studying at your own pace. The more time you dedicate to the course, the sooner you can complete it. On average, Students complete the course within six months. Some Students have been known to complete it within a month. If you would prefer to take your time due to other commitments, you have up to one year to submit your coursework.

Live Classes - Online

You can attend ILSPA's Legal Secretaries Diploma course through live online classes. These take place one evening a week for 14 weeks. Through attending our live online classes, you will be taught about law and legal procedures, have the opportunity to interact with your tutor and learn with a group of Students. Your tutor will provide you with support and encouragement throughout your studies. Students regularly provide feedback on how much they have enjoyed the classes and have found our tutors to be friendly and helpful. 

Alongside attending classes, you will need to set aside time to study and complete coursework each week. All the course material and Student resources are available online through our website. There are no examinations for the course. You are assessed through coursework which consists of multiple-choice achievement tests and practical assessments. 

Help and Support

Whatever study method you choose, you will have access to help and support.

If you study by distance learning, you will be given your Course Assessor's contact details when you enrol. Your Course Assessor will be able to assist you with any queries that you have in respect of your coursework via email or telephone.

If you attend our live online classes, you will have help from your Tutor as well as your Course Assessor outside of lesson time.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for the course, however we recommend that you have a good typing speed, computer literacy, an understanding of Microsoft Word, and a good standard of spoken and written English. If you don't have these skills, we advise that you acquire them whilst you are studying with us.
