It has been a wonderful learning experience. Even though the amount of material we covered was at times overwhelming, it was still necessary and I have learning a lot as a result. Seamus, our course tutor, made the experience all the more enjoyable by his lively, interesting and yet informative teaching style. The course material was first class! I feel I have gained sufficient knowledge and experience through practical assessments to give me the confidence to enter the world of Legal Secretaries! It was definitely worth the effort!

The tour of the Royal Court of Justice was a real treat

Thank you very much for including me in the tour to the Royal Courts of Justice. It was wonderful having the opportunity to get to know about the building’s history and function, and nosing around a few Courts during proceedings. On the other side of the Strand, we visited The Temple, where the Barrister’s chambers are located and learnt about the four Inns of Court. I was very pleased to find that the very first recorded performance of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night was played at the Middle Temple Hall. The tour of the Royal Court of Justice was a real treat and I thank Amanda Hamilton for an excellent day and huge amount of information she shared with us.

I have found the course to be very informative and extremely beneficial

I have found the course to be very informative and extremely beneficial to developing my previously limited legal knowledge. I thoroughly enjoyed attending the evening classes and this was largely due to our tutor Amanda Hamilton, who made the classes interesting and fun through her teaching style and examples that provided insight and were relatable. I would like to thank ILSPA and Amanda for help throughout the course and Maria Richards for all her guidance and patience.

It was great to know there was always someone there

I have thoroughly enjoyed the course. The way the course is set out with the tests and practical assessments was great for me because when I completed and passed the tests it built up my confidence for the practical assessments. My tests were marked and returned really quickly. It was great to know there was always someone there. I felt like I was achieving a lot because I wasn't waiting long for my results.

The most fascinating experience I have ever had

The most fascinating experience I have ever had. I easily can say that it was a life changing course. Personal thanks to our teacher Mr Seamus Ryan. I could not have wished for a better teacher. I would like to wish him all the best at everything he does. Personal thanks to Mrs Maria Richards for putting up with our test assessments and hundreds of emails with many questions. Wonderful venue at Regent’s University and so easy to get there from anywhere you travel.

Everything is accessed via an online portal which was very easy to navigate around

My experience of the course and ILSPA has been fantastic. I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly I received query feedback and also the results of my achievement tests. I am so delighted to start work for a Law firm

I gained my Legal Secretaries Diploma in January this year and have been employed at the Univeristy of Exeter, Medical School for the past 12 months. I was keen to use my recently obtained qualification and applied for a Legal Secretary position which was advised at Tozers Solicitors in Exeter. An ex-collegue/friend works at Tozers and sent me an email to say that a position was coming up so I applied and am pleased to say that I was offered the job! I start at the end of the month and I am so delighted to start work for a Law firm in Exeter. Tozers employ 100 staff and have offices in Teignmouth, Newton Abbot and Exeter. This was the first Legal Secretary position that I applied for. In March 2014 I won the Legal Secretaries and PAs online journal competition 'Why I want to become a Legal Secretary' so I included this in my supporting statement and this was the first subject that came up at the interview... They were intrigued by this!

I am glad I chose ILSPA for my studies

I would like to give a big thank you to Maria Richards for helping me through this course when I have needed guidance. Due to how well everything is put together, I have thoroughly enjoyed studying and completing the assessments. When making enquiries to your team, the responses are prompt, helpful and extremely kind. I really appreciated how the assessments are set out, not too challenging for beginners as there is step by step guidance on how to complete all of the legal documents and multiple choice achievement tests. I also valued your consideration towards your students when offering career advice and CV help for those that are unsure. Overall, I am glad I chose ILSPA for my studies.

Both bosses are a dream and their teams too

Just wanted to tell you some good news as I know the Legal Diploma played a big part in my being hired. After a long hard slog and countless rejections and the challenge of someone taking on a PA who has not been a PA for over 12 years! I thought my time was up. Someone saw my potential and personality, took a chance and hired me. Am back working in Media broadcasting and even better than the last time as MTV are under the Viacom umbrella. I'm six weeks in to my new role at Viacom in Camden and am now a PA to the VP of Finance and the Head of Legal. Working across two channels - Nickelodeon and Comedy Central. Both bosses are a dream and their teams too. Great people who are also reasonable and fun. It's a huge relief and I have you (Seamus Ryan) and the Institute to thank for getting me there. I have really enjoyed studying and have learnt such a lot about Law

I have really enjoyed studying and have learnt such a lot about Law and the work of a Legal Secretary. I enjoyed my visit to the Royal Courts of Justice in May 2014 which I found very interesting. I was also pleased to win the Institute of Legal Secretaries and PAs journal (March edition) competition 'Why I want to be a Legal Secretary'. Since studying, I have secured full time employment at Exeter Univeristy Medical School as an administrator; however I am still interested in having a career as a Legal Secretary.
