I am glad I chose ILSPA for my studies

I would like to give a big thank you to Maria Richards for helping me through this course when I have needed guidance. Due to how well everything is put together, I have thoroughly enjoyed studying and completing the assessments. When making enquiries to your team, the responses are prompt, helpful and extremely kind. I really appreciated how the assessments are set out, not too challenging for beginners as there is step by step guidance on how to complete all of the legal documents and multiple choice achievement tests. I also valued your consideration towards your students when offering career advice and CV help for those that are unsure. Overall, I am glad I chose ILSPA for my studies.

I really have learned a great deal from this course

Being able to access it online was a huge help

The Royal Courts of Justice Tour

Both bosses are a dream and their teams too

Just wanted to tell you some good news as I know the Legal Diploma played a big part in my being hired. After a long hard slog and countless rejections and the challenge of someone taking on a PA who has not been a PA for over 12 years! I thought my time was up. Someone saw my potential and personality, took a chance and hired me. Am back working in Media broadcasting and even better than the last time as MTV are under the Viacom umbrella. I'm six weeks in to my new role at Viacom in Camden and am now a PA to the VP of Finance and the Head of Legal. Working across two channels - Nickelodeon and Comedy Central. Both bosses are a dream and their teams too. Great people who are also reasonable and fun. It's a huge relief and I have you (Seamus Ryan) and the Institute to thank for getting me there. I have really enjoyed studying and have learnt such a lot about Law

I have really enjoyed studying and have learnt such a lot about Law and the work of a Legal Secretary. I enjoyed my visit to the Royal Courts of Justice in May 2014 which I found very interesting. I was also pleased to win the Institute of Legal Secretaries and PAs journal (March edition) competition 'Why I want to be a Legal Secretary'. Since studying, I have secured full time employment at Exeter Univeristy Medical School as an administrator; however I am still interested in having a career as a Legal Secretary.

Gaining my diploma boosted my confidence no end

My experience of the Institute of Legal Secretaries was a very positive one. It boosted my confidence no end and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to set out in a legal secretary career, or anyone who has had a legal secretary career but wants to reinforce it with a recognised qualification and/or possibly further it with more training. My Legal Secretaries Diploma means a great deal to me. Having been a Legal Secretary for 31 years I found that gaining my diploma boosted my confidence no end. It is also a great addition to my CV should I need it in the future. I am really loving my job at Horwood & James LLP and have grown as a secretary since I have been there. It seems that there is a lack of good legal secretaries out there and any encouragement I could give to anyone to pursue a career in this field I would be very happy to do so. I believe that the Legal Secretaries Diploma Course is a great foundation to newcomers to the profession and, a great boost to those of us who have been in the profession some time and need that extra support and encouragement to continue their career.

I am pleased to say that I secured a position

I wanted to write and thank you for all your support and help in amending my CV. After submitting it to a few firms of solicitors I received two telephone calls within a couple of hours of my CV landing on their doormats. I am pleased to say that I secured a position from one of these phone calls and am now happily working in Commercial Conveyancing. Without your help I do not think I would have been able to get back into Law so easily after a 12 year break. I will continue with my studies and once completed, will continue to be a member of ILSPA. Thank you for your help in enabling me to return to a profession which I have a passion for.

The support you receive really helps

I chose to do the course so I could look into starting a career and it has certainly helped me. Since May 2013 I have worked for a Trust and Will writing company - I had barely started the course and if I had not been studying then I would not be in the job I am in now. The units contain good information and the later units especially have been very relevant to me. The material available is extremely helpful and Maria (the Course Assessor) has spent a lot of time helping me through problems or misunderstandings I have had. The support you receive really helps you along and keeps you motivated to finish the course. I would recommend the Institute to anyone.

Thanks to this course, I am more confident in my day to day work

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all at the Institute of Legal Secretaries and PAs, especially Maria Richards, who always returned my assessments very quickly and also, replied to my questions in a very helpful manner. I have appreciated this course; I had difficulties learning when I was in school, and the fact that I could study in my own time helped my motivation. I started working in the Legal Department of an energy trading company almost 3 years ago, about a year before I started my course. Two months into my studies, the company announced massive restructuring which resulted in many redundancies, including in my department. My team of ten became one of four (two lawyers, a paralegal and myself). When this happened, obviously, my role became more important and as a result, I didn’t have as much time to study as I would have liked. On the upside, I have been given a lot more responsibilities than I would have had had the team remained complete. Thanks to this course, I am more confident in my day to day work. I strongly recommend this course to anyone (really, anyone!) who has an interest in a change of career or to learn a bit more about the legal system. Thank you.

I found the course well written

I would like to say that as I haven't taken part in a course of study since doing a Pitmans secretarial qualification over 20 years ago, I was apprehensive about returning to study especially via distance learning. However, I can honestly say that I found the course well written in such a way that I found it easy to understand and learn. The course has helped me to understand my current job better and I am hoping that it will open doors to a new career. I would also like to say that it was of particular help to have someone to whom I could ask questions and then have them answered so promptly. It made such a difference.

She has an amazing way of keeping you engaged and awake

Amanda was brilliant. The class was a good size and she has an amazing way of keeping you engaged and awake. I was exhausted by the time I arrived, but was very awake and vibrant by the time I left. Which I must admit I found very strange. But her teaching style definitely works for me. I think I am truly going to enjoy this course.

I loved doing the Legal Secretary course

I do not have enough words to express how much I am happy with your amendments on my CV, it looks really amazing!
