Seamus, the tutor, brought great positivity throughout each live class

This course has given me in-depth knowledge into the world of law, as a beginner I feel equipped to embark on a new career path. It was so informative and so easy to navigate

This course has really helped open my eyes on law, there is a lot more to it than I originally thought, but it was so informative and so easy to navigate. The assessments at the end of each module were challenging at times, however, they enable you to ensure you have gained a good understanding of the topic being read. When contacting the course assessor, Maria, I was given prompt and useful feedback. Completing the Legal Secretaries Diploma has really opened my eyes to how in-depth the law is

ILSPA has helped me gain a wide range of knowledge within the law sector. It has always been an interest of mine, and completing the Legal Secretaries Diploma has really opened my eyes to how in-depth the law is. I have loved studying this course

I will miss it!

I thoroughly enjoyed the course, which gave me focus during the several lockdowns. I have a large family and therefore, it could be difficult to find the time; however, the course material and units are so user friendly I could easily pick up where I left off. The course for me was invaluable and I think it is a "must-do" for persons with no prior legal work experience

The course was practical and adequate, it was clearly well-structured and intentional in its purpose. It provided "hands-on" experience and the "know-how" to handle legal documents and forms as well as the ability to type letters and produce legal documents. My bachelor of law degree gave me a theoretical understanding of the law and its application, it did not give practical experience of what to expect in a working environment. I chose this course to bridge that gap and to help acquire some experience on what to expect in a legal administrative position. I can say with certainty that after completing the course I feel confident that I can successfully work as a Legal Secretary in any law office. The course for me was invaluable and I think it is a "must-do" for persons with no prior legal work experience.

Having not studied law before I now feel confident and well-equipped going forward

I was really pleased with the course content and the help and support of my tutor and the Institute in providing me with really useful feedback on my current CV to improve my prospects in my job search. Having not studied law before I now feel confident and well-equipped going forward. The course has enabled me to be able to complete the practical aspects of secretarial work in a Law firm, with my portfolio being a valuable asset to showcase what I can do in interviews, but I also now have a good understanding and background knowledge of law. I feel this will make working as a Secretary in a law firm a lot more engaging and interesting. The online resources, course structure, and teaching by Seamus was great and I am looking forward to the Court tour when we are able to go. This is a well-structured course, with a good balance of theory and practice. It's rich with information regarding core legal principles and explanations of important legal concepts. I now have a good insight into legal secretarial practices and what to expect in my future career as a Legal PA. The course has also taught me the importance of paying attention to detail and proofreading my work. Whilst the course is not difficult, it does however require commitment. I will definitely be recommending this course to others.

I feel more confident and prepared after taking this course

I chose the ILSPA course because I am from the United States; I felt that learning the foundation of the United Kingdom's Common Law legal system would give me a greater understanding of how the laws and procedures function within the court system. ILSPA also appealed to me because they offer several course options to accommodate every student's needs. The staff have done an excellent job in arranging online live classes to address the lockdown(s) due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The course material is organised and explained in-depth for each unit. The assessments and achievement tests do test the student's comprehension of law by analysing scenarios; I did find that one cannot simply memorise the material. The scenarios helped me to understand when a law has been breached and what law(s) would apply and the reason why. This course has enhanced my word processing skills by learning to format documents and complete forms for each practice area. I feel more confident and prepared after taking this course. The staff at ILSPA have been helpful and encouraging in addressing my queries. I will be sure to recommend ILSPA to anyone wishing to pursue a career as a Legal Secretary, it will be the best investment they will ever make for their future.
