Morgan & Co Solicitors are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Legal Secretary/audio typist to join their team. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative support to their solicitors, ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities within the firm. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong organisational skills and a passion for legal processes to develop their career in a dynamic environment.

Duties

  • Managing and maintaining legal files and documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Drafting, proofreading, and editing legal correspondence, reports, and other documents.
  • Organising appointments and meetings to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Liaising with clients and external agencies in a professional manner.
  • Assisting with case preparation by gathering relevant information and supporting materials.
  • Handling incoming calls and providing exceptional customer service to clients and visitors.
  • Managing administrative tasks such as audio typing, filing, photocopying and scanning.
  • Supporting the legal team with ad hoc duties as required to ensure efficient workflow.

Skills

  • Strong analysis skills to interpret legal documents and information accurately
  • Excellent customer service skills to maintain positive relationships with clients.
  • Proven administrative experience within a professional environment, preferably in the areas of Wills and Probate and residential conveyancing but this is not essential.
  • Exceptional organisational skills to prioritise tasks effectively and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience in audio typing.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
  • Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information

This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to contribute to a reputable legal practice while developing their professional expertise.

Previous legal secretarial experience is essential.

This role is offered on a part-time basis of 2-3 days per week. Salary is up to £16 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications.
