Owen Reed is looking for a Legal PA for a top law firm in London.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Legal PA to join a busy litigation team, providing high-quality support to a group of lawyers across a broad range of contentious matters. The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-focused and confident working in a fast-paced legal environment.

The Role The Legal PA will support lawyers on a range of litigation matters, including case preparation, disclosure, statements of case, court filings and trial preparation. The role will also involve diary management, document production, billing support and wider Legal PA duties to ensure the smooth running of the team.

You will be expected to build strong working relationships with lawyers, clients and business support teams while maintaining a high level of professionalism, discretion and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, amend, format, redline, compare and proofread legal documents, correspondence and court papers Assist with statements of case, skeleton arguments, closing submissions, disclosure lists and other litigation documents Prepare and organise files, court bundles, hearing bundles and trial bundles Manage Outlook diaries for multiple lawyers, including meetings, court dates and appointments Support all aspects of litigation administration, including disclosure, court forms and e-filing through CE-File and other online court portals Assist with client engagement and matter opening processes, including engagement letters, conflict checks and new matter requests Record time entries, assist with billing processes and liaise with accounts regarding invoices Process lawyers’ expenses in line with firm policy Provide overflow and cross-team support when required Maintain accurate filing and the highest standards of confidentiality Provide reception cover during busy periods or absences where needed Skills and Experience Minimum 5 years’ experience in a mid-sized or large law firm Experience supporting at least 3 lawyers Strong litigation Legal PA experience Excellent knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures and the Civil Procedure Rules Advanced MS Word skills, including styles, track changes, document comparison, tables of contents and tables of authorities Strong working knowledge of Outlook, with basic Excel and PowerPoint skills Experience using NetDocuments, Best Authority and Adobe Acrobat Pro/DC is preferred Confident with e-filing via CE-File and other court portals Understanding of client billing processes Excellent grammar, spelling and proofreading skills Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail Professional, reliable and able to work well under pressure Strong client service skills and the ability to build effective working relationships Able to work collaboratively within a team Legal Secretarial Diploma or Certificate, and/or previous litigation experience
