Legal Secretary - Litigation
Hybrid : 4 days in the office and 1 day at home

Owen Reed is looking to recruit a top Legal Secretary to support a Litigation team for a top law firm in London on a permanent basis.

To provide comprehensive and high-quality secretarial and administrative support to the litigation team, enabling fee earners to operate at optimum efficiency. This role requires proactive support, excellent organisation skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide efficient secretarial support to fee earners, including audio and copy typing, document production, amending and formatting legal documents.

Manage diary entries, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements.

Handle incoming telephone calls and correspondence in a professional and timely manner.

Assist with the preparation of court documents, bundles, and legal filings (including electronic filing where required).

Open, maintain, and close client files in line with compliance procedures.

Manage deadlines and follow up on outstanding matters.

Liaise with clients, courts, counsel, and external parties on behalf of fee earners.

Process expense claims and assist with billing and time recording.

Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Carry out general administrative duties including photocopying, scanning, filing (electronic and paper), and mail handling.

Provide support to other secretaries and teams when required.

Key Skills & Experience:

Previous experience working as a Legal Secretary within a litigation or dispute resolution team.

Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and document formats.

Fast and accurate typing skills, including experience with digital dictation.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload under pressure.

High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Discretion and professionalism in dealing with confidential information.
