Hall Brown Family Law are a multi-site, multi-award winning boutique family law firm specialising in high net worth family law aspects.  They are currently looking to recruit a junior legal secretary/office assistant to join them on a permanent full-time basis at their London City Centre office.  As a result of their growth nationally, you have the opportunity to join this exciting, motivated and inclusive company who are passionate about ensuring its core values are maintained.

You will be responsible for assisting the whole team by providing ongoing effective and proactive secretarial and administrative support to ensure the efficient running of the office as a whole and to provide greater productivity to a high standard. 

They are looking for someone who are willing to learn the tools of the trade from the ground up and someone who has a positive and friendly attitude.  No prior experience of working within the family law sector but they should have an CILEx Legal Secretarial diploma, 5 GCSE’s grade C and above, excellent IT, communicative and practical skills and who are interested in progressing their career in one of the most dynamic law firms in the country.

Key tasks and responsibilties: 

  • Legal secretarial duties, to include, but not limited to audio and copy typing/drafting of correspondence, court forms, pleadings, documents and file notes, together with assembly/collation of all letters and documents and sending out
  • Preparation of court bundles
  • Copying, scanning and faxing
  • Opening and closing files (manually and electronically)
  • Collection/delivery and distribution of incoming and outgoing post/DX
  • Ensuring all files are kept up to date, filing of all correspondence/documents and assistance with maintenance of files (electronically and manually)
  • Diary management/arranging meetings, hearings and conferences with clients/counsel/-in-house/third parties as appropriate
  • Organising meetings and assisting with travel arrangements
  • Answering incoming calls and dealing with enquiries and taking detailed messages as appropriate
  • Confidence to liaise with clients and third parties/stakeholders in person, by email and by telephone
  • Compliance with the firm’s policies and procedures
  • Receptionist duties/greeting clients/setting up meetings/organising refreshments/lunches for meetings
  • Delivery of Instructions to Counsel/court bundles
