ILSPA would like to take a moment to say happy National Paralegal Day to all our associates, Members and friends working within the Paralegal profession. As highly valued and indispensable members of the legal profession, it is wonderful to see Paralegals receive a day of recognition to celebrate their work. ILSPA's patron and CEO of the National Association of Licensed Paralegals, Amanda Hamilton said this about the day:

"We are excited to announce the UK’s first National Paralegal Day. This is a day to celebrate the work that Paralegals do and the contribution they make to the legal profession.

Whether they are working within a solicitor’s practice, in house at a large organisation or independently in their practice – Paralegals fill a void that has been created by the reduction in legal aid.

Paralegals are often the unsung, unrecognised members of the legal profession – and yet, each year, they help thousands of people who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford legal representation.

Each year they support solicitors and their teams and help them deliver high quality services to clients, and they work hard within organisations as diverse as local authorities and FTSE100 companies."

To celebrate the contribution of Paralegals within the legal profession, National Association of Licensed Paralegals will be hosting an event tonight at the House of Commons. The event will provide an opportunity to network, learn more about the role of a Paralegal and celebrate the work that they do. There will be an awards ceremony to recognise Paralegals who have made an outstanding contribution to the profession.

ILSPA hope that all the attendees have a fantastic night and look forward to congratulating the winners.
