The English Legal System

The aim of this unit is to enable the learner to gain an understanding of how English law has developed, the creation of legislation and how law is administered through the court system. 

Through this unit, the learner will understand:

• The nature and function of law
• The classification of law
• The development of the English Legal System
• Present-day sources of English law
• The court structure
• How disputes are settled outside of court
