Leigh Day is seeking to hire a dynamic and proactive Legal Secretary within its’ Personal Injury Department within the Asbestos Team. The roles will be providing secretarial and litigation support to the supervising Partner(s) and the team.

Leigh Day has a team of specialist claimant lawyers with unrivalled expertise in the field of asbestos and industrial disease.  Leigh Day acts exclusively for claimants who've been injured or treated unlawfully by others. Our asbestos lawyers have secured millions of pounds in compensation in the last ten years for clients whose loved ones have died because of asbestos exposure. 

Main duties and responsibilities;

The role involves utilising our case management system, drafting and typing documents (digital and copy), filing, managing diaries, arranging meetings and conferences, liaising with clients, experts, counsel and other solicitors, preparing and checking bundles and dealing with other general administrative tasks.

To be successful you must have;

  • Legal secretarial experience along with the ability to audio type from dictation accurately and speedily. Relevant claimant, litigation experience within personal injury and / or asbestos will be an advantage but not essential.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with case management systems.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

  • Relevant experience in using a variety of IT packages (MS Word, Excel, Case Management Systems and Outlook).

  • Demonstrable experience in being organised, manage multiple priorities and deliver consistently against tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrable experience of working in and assisting a team.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Manchester.
