Team Co-ordinator - Employment Department

The award-winning Employment Department within Leigh Day is seeking to hire a Team Co-ordinator. Reporting to a Partner and providing the administrative support for her team, this role provides the fantastic opportunity to work within a Department, known for its outstanding calibre of litigation lawyers who have successfully taken on some of the biggest and most powerful institutions in the country, in high-profile disputes involving claims for millions of pounds, resulting in many ground-breaking employment and discrimination judgements.  

Key tasks and responsibilities;

  • Proactively facilitate the efficient delivery of the team’s legal fee earning work by providing first class organisational and administrative support.
  • Organise the team’s electronic and paper case files, assist with archiving, photocopying, diary management and other administrative tasks.
  • Assist with financial management information billing and chasing of payments.
  • Liaise with clients, barristers, other solicitors, experts, costs draftsmen, the courts and others to arrange meetings, give and receive information and documents.
  • Ensure data protection obligations are met and deliver compliance requirements of Lexcel.
  • Draft documents, correspondence, minutes and meeting notes as required.

To be successful you must demonstrate;

  • Relevant experience of working in a busy administrative role. Experience gained within legal and/or Employment will be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal sensitively with clients, manage difficult situations and conversations professionally.
  • Excellent level of numeracy and proven ability to work accurately and confidently with numbers.
  • High level of proficiency in IT, especially Word and Excel, fast and accurate keyboard skills and ability to work with a database. Experience of using an online case management system / tool would be highly advantageous
  • Ability to organise and prioritise a complex workload, take initiative and work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a positive attitude.
