SecsintheCity, the UK’s leading job site for business support professionals, has officially released its 2026 Salary Report.

This comprehensive study provides a definitive look at the current landscape of earnings, benefits, and workplace trends for EAs, PAs, and administrative staff nationwide.

As a trusted industry benchmark, the 2026 report moves beyond simple pay scales to explore how business support roles are changing. Key findings highlight the growing integration of AI tools within support roles and the shifting expectations surrounding hybrid work, flexible working, and professional development.

Sarah El-Doori, Managing Director at SecsintheCity, says: “By providing this annual report, we empower the business support community to make informed career decisions and ensure their contributions are fairly recognised.”

The findings offer a transparent roadmap for both professionals navigating their careers and organisations looking to attract high-quality talent in a competitive market.

The 2026 survey paints a very positive picture for Legal Secretaries and Legal PAs, with strong signs that firms continue to recognise the value of experienced support professionals.

One of the standout findings is that 71% of Legal Secretaries and Legal PAs received a pay rise over the past 12 months. On top of this, 65% also received a financial bonus, demonstrating that many employers are rewarding both performance and loyalty in an increasingly competitive market.

The survey also reports that the average salary for legal support staff has reached £46,100, highlighting the continued investment law firms are making in attracting and retaining talented professionals.

Flexibility remains another major success story. 73% of Legal PAs now work in a hybrid arrangement, with a further 6% working entirely remotely. That means just 21% are based exclusively in the office—the second lowest proportion of any profession included in the survey. It's clear that flexible working is no longer a temporary benefit but an established part of life for many legal support professionals.
