Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit is a registered charity, based in North Manchester, which provides legal immigration advice and representation to people in need.

We are looking for a Legal Secretary, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, salary £17,000-20,000 per year.

 Within a team of 10 solicitors and caseworkers, the Legal Secretary’s role is very important and helps to keep the team efficient and effective. The most important requirement for this post is someone who can audio and copy type accurately at a speed of between 60 – 75 words per minute. The role requires someone who is well organised and who can prioritise their workload. The Legal Secretary also assists caseworkers with a number of tasks including organising files, maintaining a case management system, contacting clients, interpreters, and other agencies as agreed. Previous experience of working in immigration law is desirable but not essential. Closing date Monday 11th September 2017 at 12 noon.
