Mercantile Barristers is a new type of Commercial Barristers’ Chambers based in the heart of Legal London at Gray’s Inn.

Our members have established specialist practices in commercial litigation, company, construction, property, estates and sports law.  We provide full circle legal services on both contentious and non-contentious matters to businesses, professionals and high net worth individuals.

To assist with our increasing case load and structured expansion we now require a Legal Secretary/Receptionist to join our team on a permanent basis.

Duties will include covering the switchboard, meeting and greeting clients and visitors; basic data input; maintaining the waiting area, assisting with the general administration of chambers; scanning, photocopying, and filing documents; collecting and distributing post and DX.

The role will also involve all aspects of support in litigation case management from pre-action conduct through to trial and appeal where necessary in compliance with the Civil Procedure Rules. Previous exposure to practice management involving any aspect of either recruitment, personnel, facilities, marketing or accounts co-ordination will be an advantage although not a pre-requisite.

Experience of working in a law firm and/or barristers’ chambers; and  completion of the LPC or BPTC will be an advantage, although not a pre-requisite. The successful candidate must be professionally presented with a clear speaking voice and a warm personality.

We offer a competitive salary dependent on experience.
