I wanted to let you know that after completing the Legal Secretarial Diploma I am about to start my first legal secretarial job. I had an interview earlier this week and they have agreed to take me on for a fortnight's work trial, which I am delighted about. It is primarily a legal aid firm specialising in criminal work and I feel I can learn a lot there. It also has the advantage of only being a couple of bus rides away from where I live and I won't have to venture underground at any point!

Having completed the diploma I had the confidence to apply for the position, despite not having any experience in the field. I think having the diploma on my CV got me the interview, and showed them that I was serious about wanting a career in the legal field, as opposed to any old typing job. They also spoke about wanting somebody they could "develop", which could mean a paralegal career in the future.

Thank you so much for your support throughout the course. It really makes a difference knowing that there is a team behind you. I'd like to carry on with my membership of the Institute and would have no hesitation in recommending the course to other people.

I have enjoyed doing the course so much, in that, I really could not fault it at all. Each time I have had a query (which has only happened on a couple of occasions) Tim has been very helpful and responses to my emails have been very quick and efficient. The course structure and the wording have been absolutely superb, in that it is worded so that people like myself who have no legal background can understand it but at the same time it "taxes" you, so that when you are doing the achievement tests they are worded in a manner that you really have had to "read and understood the unit" in able for you to answer the questions. The course assessments and the creating of a portfolio have really given me a sense of an achievement in that I have created something that I can present to potential employers, but in addition to that I got tremendous satisfaction in putting in together. It is obvious that this course has been very well designed and thought out.

I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is considering doing the Diploma with the Institute of Legal Secretaries. The standard of service was exceptional from start to finish, all tests I emailed off for marking were returned within 24hrs and all questions raised were answered in a matter of hours.
